Last Rites Held For Fred L Bryson
Funeral services for Fred Lane Bryson were held on November 10,1964 at 2.00 p. m., from the Sutphen Funeral Home with the Rev. George S. Snyder officiating. Pallbearers included A. J. Bryson Jr., Donald Bryson, Rolland Bryson, Fredrick Bryson, Harold Bryson and Austin McClelland. Flower-bearers were Blanche Pettengill and Dorothy Baker. The music was by Mrs. Mabel Dunn. Concluding service and interment was in the Villisca cemetery. Fred L. Bryson, son of John and Rebecca Lane Bryson, was born on May 19, 1872 in Illinois, and passed away on November 5,1964 at Walla Walla, Washington at the age of 92 years. He moved to the Villisca community with his parents when one year of age. In May, 1891, he was united in marriage to Orra May Anderson. To this union six children were born. They lived on a farm until 1913, when they moved to Villisca and Mr. Bryson went into the hardware and automobile business. In 1923, he moved to Canada for one year. From there he moved to Yakima. Washington and later to Walla Walla, Washington where he was employed on the railroad until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife and two sons, Everett and Elmo. He is survived by brothers Roy Bryson of Villisca and A. J. of Cumberland, Iowa, two daughters Lena Bryson and Thelma Bryson, both of Concord, California, thirteen grandchildren: nineteen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren.
