Funeral services for Novelle J. McDaniel, 97, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Russell Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas at 2:00 p.m.
She passed away early Friday morning, January 8, 2010, in a Wills Point nursing home.
Novelle was born January 28, 1912, in Rains County, the daughter of Monroe M. O'Rear and Ada Fitzgerald O'Rear. She was raised in Emory and graduated from Emory High School in 1928. Novelle married Lester B. McDaniel in Rains County. In 1936, they moved to Dallas and in 1963, they moved to Wills Point. She was a member of the Lake Tawakoni Church of Christ and was very active in Bible class. Novelle also enjoyed feeding hummingbirds, fishing and canning fruits and vegetables.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester B. McDaniel in 1996 and a son, Louie Don McDaniel in 1932.
Novelle is survived by a son, Joe D. McDaniel, Sr. & wife, Carolyn, of Wills Point; two grandsons, Joe D. McDaniel, Jr., of Carrolton and Gary McDaniel & wife, Susan, of Balch Springs and a great-grandson, Jeffery Garin McDaniel, of Dallas.
