Regan was electrocuted while working to repair damage caused by hurricane Fernanda on the Hawaiian island named Kuaui. He was then 35 years old. He was a graduate of Coronado high school in Lubbock Texas and a some time student at Texas Tech University that is also in Lubbock. His cremains were spread by his father via helicopter over the ocean and near a beach Regan loved in Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii.
His middle name was given to him by his grandfather John Lee Smith after a man who had given him his trench-coat during the 'war to end all wars' in France. Also known as World War I. (ahem...) Regan was preceded in death by his brothers Marcus McNeese, John Barron Smith, Rex Christian Smith and sisters Claire-Teeta Morgan Smith, Deirdre Colleen NoŽllie Smith.
