Mr. Darrel Treat Cure, age 82, of Irving Texas, formerly of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Friday, February 1, 2008 in Irving.
He was born April 24, 1925 in Whitney, Texas, to the late Orin Dee Cure and the late Mary Elizabeth Simmons. He was united in marriage to the late Wilda Audrey Lasdan on Feburary 13, 1946. They had two sons: Richard Darrell and Steven Dale; and one daughter: Deborah Susan. He was a carpenter by profession and was of the Baptist faith. Darrel was a Mason and a veteran who served his country in the US Navy during World War II. He loved to garden, and was a frequent volunteer in the kitchen at his church. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orin Dee Cure and his wife, Wilda. Three brothers: Howard Earl of Hanford, California, Horace Dee of Lindsay, California and J. T. (Dick) of Mena, Arkansas. Four sisters: Infant Anna May of Texas, Josie Irene Stover of De Queen, Arkansas, Lois Marie Marlar of Hico, Texas, and Joy Edress Sage of Orange, California. One granddaughter: Kimberly Ann Cure Zay Zay of Baldwin, North Dakota.
He is survived by his two sons: Richard Darrell of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Steven Dale of North Bend, Washington. One daughter: Deborah Susan Reynolds of Irving, Texas. One brother: James Leslie Cure of Paradise, California, and one sister: Martha Lucille Clark of Hye, Texas. Seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Mena, Arkansas.
