Born in Abbville County SC, moved to Georgia and married in either Gwinett or Jackson County. His wife was Mary A. Burson. They moved to Carroll County Georgia.
Benjamin entered the Civil War and was injured at Battle of Vicksburg. He was taken to the hospital in Mobile, Alabama and died there later.
The burial site is located in Confederate Rest in Magnolia Cemetery in Mobile, AL. He is buried in Row 14, Number 62.

According to Benjamin King's military records, his son, Thomas Hiram King, was with him at the time of his death and received Benjamin King's personal effects.
