Kenneth Robert Corry died Monday, March 31, at Salinas Memorial Hospital, Calif., following two months of acute illness. He was 61.
Ken was born Dec. 4, 1941, in West Liberty, at the home of his great-grandfather. He attended his junior and senior years at and graduated from Bryan High School in 1959.
He graduated from college in North Carolina and from Air Force Officers Training School in Texas.
He retired in 1978 after 13 years in the Air Force, where he served as captain and navigator on an AC130 in the Vietnam War.
He was employed by Monterey County, Calif., where he had lived for the past 13 years.
He was an accomplished punster. He loved nature, philosophy and music, and returned to his childhood home on Allen Street in Yellow Springs often to visit.
He will be missed for his gentle nature, his wry sense of humor and generous spirit.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene L. Corry, and his grandparents.
He is survived by his wife, Donelia of Monterey, Calif.; his mother, Mary E. Corry of Yellow Springs; two sisters, Mary Jane Short and her husband, Bill, of Yellow Springs, and Martha J. Givens and her husband, William, of Enon; three nieces, two nephews, one great-niece, one great-nephew, and an extended loving family of aunts, cousins and many close friends.
A private burial was held in Monterey, Calif.
