Alice Caroline Nelson was one of eight children whose parents were Nels C. and Carrie Marie Nelson. At a young age she came with the family to a famr southeast of Maywood. The first years the family lived in a sod house. Later a fram house was built near the sod House. She married John Dold on April 14, 1909 in McCook, NE. The first year of their married life they lived with John's parents until th eparents moved to Cambridge, NE. John and Alice continued to live on the farm where they celebrated their 50th Wedding Annniversary. They moved into Maywood in January 1961. They were the parents of three children Helen, Harley and Mildren and had three grandsons, Warren, Wylie and Bryan Dold
