Naomi Lee McCubbin Taylor passed away Sept 27, 2002, at Rolling Meadows Health Care Center in Lafontaine, IN. She was born March 11, 1935, in Beckham County, OK, the daughter of Linnie Lee Hopkins and Wesley Naugle McCubbin. According to the 1940 Census, 5-yr-old Naomi lived in Beckham County with her mother and then-stepfather, Jack Kinnemar, near the Erick, OK home of her grandparents T.J. and Gertie Hopkins. She and her mother later moved to Texas, where she spent the majority of her childhood under the watchful eyes of her mother and stepfather Vernon Austin "Jack" Mabra.
In 1954 Naomi married Cordis Eddy. They welcomed daughter Keesha in 1969.
On Nov. 23, 1991, Naomi married John Taylor.
Naomi was a homemaker. She received her GED in Texas and attended the Wesleyan college for 3-1/2 years. She was a member of Calvary Worship Center.
Naomi was survived by her husband John, of the home; son, Mike Martin, of Paris, TX; daughter, Keesha Johnson of Wabash, IN; four grandchildren, Michael Shane Martin, Tabitha Leann Martin, Kayla Renee Russel and Chastidy Leh Johnson; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Calvary Chapel Worship Center. Pastor Steve Eckart officiated. Burial was in Friends Cemetery in Wabash, IN. Arrangements were handled by McDonald Funeral Home Eddingfield Chapel.
