Eva Pace Hooper
Brevard, North Carolina

Eva Pace Hooper, 88, of Route 2, died Monday in a Hendersonville nursing center.

A native of Polk County, she had lived in Brevard for 45 years and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Pace. She was the wife of Walter Grady Hooper Sr., who died in 1975. She was a member of Mount Moriah Calvert Baptist Church and Pisgah Chapter No. 198 of Order of the Eastern Star.

She also was preceded in death by her son Walter Grady Hooper Jr. and Great Grandson Christoper Edwin Hooper.

Surviving are daughter, Ruth H. Bresnahan and her husband Jack of Harriman, Tennessee and a son, Thomas L. Hooper and wife Katie of Brevard and a daughter-in-law, Louise Hooper of Brevard. Also, surviving her are 8 Grand Children, Dorthy and Arthur Owen, Debbie and Ricky Maybin of Brevard, Grady and Pat Hooper of Rockwood, Michigan, Steve and Brenda Hooper of Evensville, Tn., Marie and Tom Baldridge and Tommy and Jean Hooper of Raleigh N.C. Jean Parrish of Alpena, Michigan and Walter Bresnahan of Salt Lake City, Utah. She was also survived by the following Great Grand Children, Cary Brian and Suzanne Hall, Andre and Maureen Hall, Trisha and Greg Smith, Melissa, Kim and Crystal Hooper and Debbie Hautau and Elizabeth Baldridge, and Sarah and Ashley Hooper and one Great Great Granddaughter, Lydia Hall.

She was an excellent cook and seamstress and always had her apron on with buttons in her pocket. She made the best chocolate pies. She had a green thumb when it came to her flowers and garden.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday in Pisgah Gardens. The Rev. Fred Griggs will officate.

The family will receive friends 7 to 9 PM Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home.
