Wade H. Cunningham, of Franklin, a retired brick mason and carpenter and native of Macon County, died unexpectedly Sunday, October 23, in a local hospital following a heart attack. He was 75.
Funeral services for Mr. Cunningham were conducted the 25th at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, of which he was a member, by Dr. W. Thomas Lane, pastor, the Rev. Curtis A. Burgs, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Waynesville. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery with James L. Houser, George Reid, Sr., Benn Harrison, Henry Sprinkle, Bruce Bryant and Fred Stiles serving as pallbearers.
Born April 8, 1891, he was the son of the late C.C. and Mrs. Margaret Stalcup Cunningham. He was married Sept. 21, 1911 to Miss Lela Stiles, of this county, who survives. The Cunningham's celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1961.
In addition to his wife, surviving are two sons, Bill Cunningham, of Waynesville, and J.C. Cunningham, of Dallas Texas; a daughter, Mrs. A.L.(Helen) Whitaker, of Franklin. Arrangements were handled by Bryant Funeral Home.
