EDWARD WINSTON GOENS, 77, passed away in a local hospital Friday morning. He was a retired moulder in the N&W East End Shops and a veteran of WWI. He had been a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge #133 for fifty years. Surviving are his wife, Mabel Wilhelm Goens and one sister, Frances Fraser, Roanoke. Funeral services by Rev. Daniel E. Scott, Oakeys Funeral Chapel, 11:30am, Monday.
