Phil Heinrich Arensmeier
Birth: May 19, 1846
Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany
Death: Dec. 17, 1922
Saline County
Missouri, USA

Philipp Heinrich "Phil" Arensmeier was born May 19, 1846 in Hoexter, Paderborn, Westphalia, Germany (which was Westfalen, Prussia). He married Louisa Wilhelmine KIXMUELLER in 1867 in Stiftburg, Germany. Their family immigrated to the United States via Bremen, Germany landing in Baltimore, Maryland in 1881. Previous to the 1990 census, they had settled in Chamois City, Osage County, Missouri. "Phil" was a farmer.

The Arensmeiers were original members of an Evangelical congregation in Grand Pass, Missouri. The group, consisting of a pastor and seven families organized in 1903 to form Evangelical Lucas Church. All services were conducted in German throughout Philipp's lifetime. He died on Dec. 17, 1922, and was buried in Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Grand Pass, Missouri.

According to Missouri birth records, Benjamin was Louisa's ninth birth and Philip was the tenth. It's likely that Louisa and Phil's eighth child was Friedrich, who only lived to be ten days old and was buried in Freedom, MO. Phil and Louisa lived in this community before moving to Grand Pass. Pilgrim Lutheran Church Cemetery, where Friedrich is buried is also where Phil and Louisa's daughter Marie is buried. Phil's in-laws Friedrich "Frederick" and Fredericka are also buried there.

Earl Clarence Arensmeier was adopted by Phil & Louisa.
