On 10 April 1967, Specialist Five James Herbert Edwards was serving with 25th Administration Company, 25th Infantry Division, in Hau Nghia Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, SP5 Edwards was killed in action when he sustained multiple fragmentation wounds. His body was recovered.
