Larson, Edwin B., 92, died April 13, 1979, at Spokane, Wash., at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Nell) Powell. He was born on November 19, 1886, at Fargo, North Dakota. Resided at 16303 NE Caples Road, Brush Prairie, Washington, a Vancouver resident for 30 years. He was a retired farmer and rancher, homesteading in Big Bend Township in 1912 and retiring in 1949 when the government bought his land as part of the Garrison Dam Project.
Mr. Larson was born in Fargo to Bernhard and Elise Larson. The family moved to Wolverton, Minnesota. He graduated from the School of Traction Engineering in Fargo, ND in 1908 and then attended the agricultural College in Fargo. Mr. Larson homesteaded south of Sanish, ND in 1912 and in 1914 he married Mary E. Watterberg. He was one of the organizers of the Farmers Union Oil Company of Sanish, serving on that company's board for many years. He also helped organize the Farmer's Union Grain Elevator Company of Sanish and served as an active board member of that company for many years.
In 1949, he and his family moved to Brush Prairie, Wash. He was a member of the Brush Prairie Baptist Church and a charter member of the Battle Ground Baptist Church until his passing. He was active in the church and sang in the choir for many years. Music was very much a part of his life. He was also an avid sportsman and loved to fish and hunt.
He is survived by his sons, Mederith J. Larson, Brush Prairie, Wa.; Shirley E. Larson, Salkum, Wash.; David B. Larson, Seattle, Wa.; a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Nell) Powell, Spokane, Wa.; and two brothers, George N. Larson, Alvin, Tex.; and Roy Larson, Wolverton, Minn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. Larson on March 2, 1978, and a daughter, Ella M. Larson in 1955.
He has 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Services will be conducted Wednesday, April 18, 1979 at 1:00 p.m., Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel, Vancouver, Wash.
Rev. Lloyd Powell of the Valley Foursquare Church in Spokane, Wash. officiated the ceremony. Private vault interment Garden of Flowers, Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
