Allene was the eldest child of Richard Franklin and Lizzie Greeson Banks. Her father passed away when she was only two years old. Following the death of her father, her mother went to live with her mother. Allene was raised in a household of many different family members.
She married Clyde Haney on Dec. 12, 1936 at Berwyn (now Gene Autry), Carter County, Oklahoma. She was the mother of three children.
Her husband Clyde was drafted during World War II. He was stationed for a while at Camp Roberts, California. Allene took her three small children, along with what possessions they would need to live, and traveled by train to California. The trip took three days.
After the War Clyde and Allene purchased Haney Grocery in Gene Autry. Following the death of her husband, Allene ran the business on her own until 1972.
She was always a very helpful, caring person and had many friends.
