Martin Cook was the sixth child born to his parents. He was born and grew up in Hardin County, Tennessee.
On 19 Dec 1889 he married Mary E. "Mollie" Daniel in Wayne County, Tennessee. This couple had no children.
After the death of Mollie, he married Roxie Copeland on 24 Feb 1892 in Wayne County.
Cook and Roxie were the parents of five children born in Hardin County, Tennessee.
In about 1908, Martin Cook and his family, along with various close family members moved to Roosevelt County, New Mexico where they all homesteaded land. They are all listed on the 1910 Census of Dora, Roosevelt County. New Mexico was not to their liking so Martin Cook and a few family members moved to Johnston County, Oklahoma while the remainder of the relatives moved back to the Hardin and Wayne County, Tennessee area.
After their move to Oklahoma an additional daughter, May Louise, was born to this family. Cook lived in Johnston County the remainder of his life.
