Carpenter; Vietnam veteran; loving husband, father and uncle; man of peace. He was a man of compassion and strength, loved by all he knew. As a Lance Corporal in the US Marines, he witnessed first-hand the horrors of the Vietnam War, and returned from the war a life-long opponent of war of any kind. He was active in the movement against both wars in Iraq. He died on Memorial Day, 2003, surrounded by family and friends. After he died, a piece of paper with the following quotation written on it was found in his wallet: "Blessed are the peacemakers." Rest in peace, David. May your dream of world peace be fulfilled.
