Civil War: Christopher enlisted on Mar 3, 1862 in Union County, AR and was a Private in Co. I, 19th (Dockery's) Arkansas Regiment. He died during the Civil War with measles at Tupelo, MS hospital on the way to the Battle at Corinth. Even though he was only 20 when he died, he was already married and had 2 young sons. His wife was Tabitha Jester Alford.

His burial location is currently unknown but there is a possibility he is one of the unmarked 13 Confederate graves on the Natchez Trail that are suspected to be associated with the makeshift hospital (in a church?) in Tupelo during the civil war.
