Kringle & Kenzie were actually two separate budgerigars (parakeets), but both are memorialized here. Kringle's dates appear above.
September 2002 - 10 March 2005
August 2002 - 24 July 2010
It was apparent early on that something was not quite right with Kenzie. His health was delicate and the vet was uncertain, but believed that he had liver function problems. He had nosebleeds and some digestive problems. He was a sweet little bird who was tame from the very beginning. He loved to play with budgie toys and made funny sounds like an arcade game when excited. Not long after his second birthday he seemed to become weaker. He died on a visit to the vet. (A risk you always have to consider with sick birds.)
Kringle was a beautiful bird who always wanted to be first. He and Kenzie were a trio of young budgies (the third bird, Chloe, survived them) who were probably not related but were a funny little gang. He had a dominant personality but allowed humans to stoke him and he might even sit on a finger or two. Kringle was not a biter, but would warn intruders away with a gentle push.
Kringle developed an internal abdominal tumor and eventually succumbed.
