W. Juanita (Rich) Genshaw, 92, of Marshall died peacefully on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at the home of her daughter.
Mrs. Genshaw was born December 11, 1919, in Sandusky, Michigan to Ira J. and Mary E. (Wagg) Rich. She graduated from Sandusky High School in 1938. On October 14, 1939, she married Arnold E. Genshaw. He preceded her in death on February 2, 1988.

Mrs. Genshaw was a homemaker for many years, while raising her five children. She later managed and owned, along with her husband, a Western Apparel Store in Lake Orion, Michigan. She also helped manage a dry cleaning store in Rochester, Michigan. Mrs. Genshaw, in her later years, would return to school to study nursing and obtained an LPN Certificate. She worked at the Oakland County Medical Care Facility, in Pontiac, Michigan, from which she retired in 1986. After retirement, she performed private nursing care in California and Montana, before relocating to Marshall in 1996.

Mrs. Genshaw was a long time member of St. John Lutheran Church in Rochester, Michigan, where she sang in the choir for many years. She also was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Marshall, and she was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Marshall.

Mrs. Genshaw enjoyed family genealogy and finding out she was a cousin to Thomas Edison and Dr. Livingstone. Her family came to this country between 1630 and 1730, and many were Revolutionary War Heroes (on both sides). She was an avid baker and cook, and enjoyed making cookies and bread for her family. She enjoyed puzzles, traveling and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Randall Genshaw of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Sandra (John) Savillo of Decatur, Michigan, Bonita (Ronald) Coffinger of Jonesville, Michigan, Rebecca Derusha of Charlotte, Michigan and Debra (Tom) Reynolds of Marshall, Michigan. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a granddaughter Shannon in 1977, sisters Bernice Binder, Minerva Taylor, Lucille Bennett, and Edwina Cramer, brothers Sanford, Leon, Bernard, Milton, Nelson, Winford, and Evans Rich.
Visitation will take place at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-8pm with family present to greet friends from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral services celebrating her life will take place at 10:30am on Friday, December 30, 2011 at the Christ Lutheran Church with Reverend David Boedecker officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. Family requests memorial contributions be made to Christ Lutheran Church. Assistance with memorials is available at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
