"Death of a War Veteran

Simon Bennett, an aged inmate of the County Infirmary, died early on Wednesday morning of last week, after an extended illness, of dropsy. His mind had been affected for some years. The deceased, who formerly lived in Huntsburg, was a veteran of the Civil War, and has a daughter and other relatives living the the county. His funeral was held Friday, at 11 a.m., at the residence of Mr. Chas. Walters, on Center Street, Rev. T.D. Phillips officiating. The remains were placed in the vault at Chardon Cemetery, where they will later be given a soldier's burial."
