Florence was the daughter of Howard Brackett and Eva (Douglass) Brackett, one of five children. Florence graduated from business school in Bangor, Maine and enjoyed a long secretarial career in New York state. Florence was married to Russell Scribner. Russell died in 1959 after which Florence moved to Phoenix, AZ. Florence worked for the State of Arizona until her retirement in 1982. Florence was the Office Administrator for The Office of The Attorney General for many years, and the Judicial Assistant for several Judges of the Arizona Court of Appeals. Florence retired from the Court of Appeals at the age of 82. Florence and Russell had a son named Fred, who predeceased her in 2000, and a daughter who survived Florence. Florence had two Grandchildren and six great Grandchildren in Fredonia, NY. In her retirement years, Florence enjoyed traveling and was a volunteer for many years at the Heard Museum and the Beatitudes Auxiliary, a service organization for the Beatitudes Campus where Florence resided at the time of her death. Florence was an avid needlepointer and gifted her family and friends with many pieces of her beautiful work. Florence was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Phoenix.
