Children include Delpha Louise (1927-2002)married to Harold Owen Tate Sr; Alma Loraine (1930-1973)married to John Briscoe Tate; Joseph Junior (1932-1989)married to Gladys Marie Coffman; Margie Rae Ellen (1937-1991)married to 1st to Smokey Toleman and 2nd to Jurd Dean Sr; Joyce Ann Married to Cue Phillips Jr; and Robert Gene Raley (1944-1998) married to Lula Mae Goode. He is son of James Loyd Raley (1871-1932) and Martha Jane (Dearing) Raley (1873-1948). His grand children include Patricia, Harold, Shirley, Nettie, and Darlene Tate (children of Delpha): Larry, Janice, Michael, and James Tate (children of Loraine); Irene and Melissa Raley that was born after his death(daughters of Joseph); Martha and Vera Toleman, Jurd and Billy (children of Margie); Linda, Beverly, and Ruth Phillips (chidren of Joyce; and Scotty Raley that was born after his death (son of Robert).
He had two step sisters which preceded him in death Lana Raley (She was three years of age when she died) and Mahala Bertha Raley (1893-1908, Bertha was married to Samuel Pike in 1907). He was also preceded in death by a grandson Stevie Gene Raley (b. Dec. 24, 1953 d. Dec. 25, 1953).
