Funeral services for Mickey L. Pledger, 59, of Spanish Fort, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Louis Street Baptist Church in Gadsden. Burial will follow in Union Grove No. 1 Cemetery in Albertville. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mr. Pledger passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014.

Mickey was a candidate for Master's Degree in Criminal Justice, a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, and a charter member of the Iota Lambda Chapter at Jacksonville State University. He served in the United States Army for 20 plus years in various capacities and was a retired Major. In 2009, Mickey retired from the United States Department of Homeland Security with 20 years of service. He was a private pilot and loved flying and working on home-built aircraft.

Mickey was preceded in death by his father, E. M. Pledger.

He is survived by his wife, Dana; children, Kevan and Kayle; and his mother, Daphine.
