Kevin Todd Staley, 56, of 17813 Garden Spot Dr., Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Friday, February 10, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.
Born Friday, April 1, 1955 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Aaron L. Staley and the late Eleanor C. McMillen Staley.
He graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1973 and then from Hagerstown Community College in 1976. He retired in 2002 from the Maryland Correctional Institution as a Lieutenant after 26 years of employment. He later worked part time at the 40 West Landfill. He was a member of Washington Square United Methodist Church. Todd was a big supporter of North Hagerstown High School Football. In 1972 while a senior at North High he was selected to the Baltimore Sun First Team as an All State Linebacker, he was the first and only football player from North High to have ever been chosen for this honor. He was a true outdoorsman, especially enjoying bass fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Wendy Beth Staley, daughter, Sarah Beth Staley of Hagerstown, MD, son, Aaron James Staley at home, sister, Kathy L. Morrisey & husband Frank of Smithsburg, MD, brother, L. Keith Staley & wife Jane of Middletown, MD, and numerous nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles.
Services will be held Monday, February 13, 2012, at 11:00 am, at the Washington Square United Methodist Church, 538 Washington Avenue Hagerstown, MD, with the Rev. Jerry L. Lowans officiating.
Family will receive friends at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD on Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Interment will be at the Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave. Hagerstown, MD 21742 or to the Washington Square United Methodist Church 538 Washington Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
