Funeral services for Marie Jones, 76, of Brownwood, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1 at the First Baptist Church in Bangs with the Rev. Lee Evans officiating. Interment will follow at Bangs Cemetery under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jones passed away Friday morning, Oct. 29, 2004, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. today at Netherton Funeral Home.
Marie was born March 4, 1928 in Santa Anna, the daughter of Roy and Anne Robbins. She was a lifetime resident of Brownwood. She was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church, and was a medical office assistant for Dr. H.B. Allen for 20 years. She was a graduate of Bangs High School.
She married Charley Ray Jones on June 9, 1945 at Concord, Texas.
Survivors include: Her husband, Charley Ray Jones; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Danny and Nancy Jones of Leander, Scotty and Jo Ann Jones of Brownwood, Steve and Peggy Jones of Brownwood and Phil Jones of Brownwood; three sisters, Melba Pennington of Brownwood, Nan Pierce of San Angelo and Norma Bly of Bangs; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jody Robbins and Lyndon Richmond, and a nephew, Joey Carriger.
