Robert Don "Bob" Mosier
Birth: Oct. 4, 1926
Beanblossom
Brown County
Indiana, USA
Death: Jul. 12, 2005
Sun City
Maricopa County
Arizona, USA

Bob is my Father.

The last of eleven children born to John Franklin "Frank" Sr and Elsie Jane (Kennedy) Mosier of Brown Co IN, Dad was born in Beanblossom. He married:

1) Bonnie Jean Warfield on 14 Sep 1946 Indianapolis, Marion Co IN (my Mother). They had four children, one daughter and three sons.
2) Kathryn (maiden unkn) abt 1974 AZ; no children.

Dad was only 15 days old when his father died from Diabetes Mellitus. With seven young children to care for, Grandma sent her new baby to live with Mrs Byrum. Dad stayed quite a while with Mrs Byrum and was known as Bob Byrum during this time. Mrs Byrum died when Dad was about 13 years old; her full name and kinship to my father is not known.

Raymond Eugene Mosier, Dad's older brother, married Elda Byrum in Apr 1926, so Mrs Byrum may have been Elda's mother. At some point, Dad resumed living with his Mother and her second husband, Guy Arthur Scofield Sr. A lifelong smoker, Dad died of Lung Cancer at age 78 years.

Joining the US Navy in 1948, Dad served on the destroyer USS Arcadia and in both WWII and Korea. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer SKI in 1968 (tombstone military designation is in error). Very artistic, Dad drew beautiful pictures with pencil, both portraits and landscapes. He was also an experienced accountant in the Navy and taught me those skills. He loved golf and his favorite pets were our dog Mandy (1960-1975) and parakeet Winky (1957-1960).

Mandy was a black terrier-mix we got from my Grandma Flora (Clevenger) Warfield in Rushville IN in 1960. She was a much loved pet and continued to live with Dad until her death, about 1975. Winky came from a drugstore in Fall River MA. Dad named her and actually taught her tricks and to say "Hello".

At the time Dad met Mom, he was working at the Kroger Grocery Strore on Morris Street in West Indpls IN.

Many special thanks to Hans. ♥Jღ for sponsoring my Father's memorial. God Bless.
