East St Louis Journal Mon. Sept 17, 1945, pg 10, col. 5: Adam Green, 70, Dies Suddenly; Inquest Tuesday. Adam Green, 70, of 477 North 83rd Street, was found dead in his home at 5:15 p.m. Sunday. He was born in Scott County, Mo, and had lived in East St. Louis, 22 years. Mr. Green had worked at the Aluminum Ore Co., but had been retired for the last three years. An inquest will be held Tuesday at noon in Robins funeral home. He is survived by three sons Daniel, James and Charles Green, seven daughters Mrs. Eva Steele, Mrs. Ethel Forhetz, Mrs. Aline Buckhannon, Mrs. Virgia Sherrod, Mrs. Georgia Richards, Mrs. Rebecka Waltemate and Mrs. Alnora Rickert; 23 grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be found in the classified section. Robins has charge.

Remains at Robins Funeral Home, 417 N. 8th St., until Wednesday, 12 noon, then will be taken to Full Gospel church, 24th and State, for services at 2 p.m. Interment Mt. Hope cemetery.

Two other daughters died as infants in St Louis, Sarah Leona Green and Viola Bell Green, burial information is unknown.
