Sarah Ellen Moore was born in Ohio December 12 1848, to Issac Daniel an Sarah (Craven) Moore and after several years of poor health, was stricken with paralysis and died at 2:00 in the afternoon of April 28 1927 at the age of seventy-eight years, four months and sixteen days, at the home of her grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Drake, in Elmer, Missouri. Sarah Ellen was the youngest girl of a family of five sisters and four brothers, all of whom have preceded her in death. While still a small girl her father passed away and her mother and family moved to Iowa. At the age of nineteen she was married to Oliver Allsup. This union was blest with two sons and a daughter, all of whom are still living. After a lingering illness of about six years, Mr. Allsup passed away and after a few years she was again married to George Perkins, a widower with eight children. This union was blest with one son, Fred. Mr. Perkins died in 1888, leaving his wife with her three sons to care for. In 1903 she moved to Kansas where she lived for a short time. She then moved, along with her son, to Missouri, coming to Elmer in 1913 where she has since resided. Mrs. Perkins was a devount church worker, having united with the church at the age of fifteen. Upon moving to Elmer she placed her member ship in the Christian Church ten years ago last year. She leaves to mourn her departure the following children, Mrs. Elizabeth C. Votaw of Eudora, Kansas, John P. Allsup of Oskaloosa, Iowa, David I. Allsup of Wright, Iowa and Frederick Perkins of Ridgeway, Colorado; The following step-children, John, George, Luther, Frank and Alonzo Perkins, Mrs. Lillian Turnald, Josephine Clayworth and Harriett Caves, twenty grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. Those attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Votaw of Eudora, Kansas, John Allsup, Don Allsup and George Perkins of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Daniel I. Allsup of Wright, Iowa and Mrs. F.A. Perkins of Ridgeway, Colorado. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. R.L. Morrow of the Christian Church and interment was in Elmer cemetery, Elmer, Mo.
