William Kern, Sr
Birth: unknown
Death: unknown

According to a Fayette County Genealogy Project on the Miner Cemetery-Springfield Township, Stones of 5 members of the Kern family (William Sr., William Jr., George, Peter, and Michael) have been moved {from the Martin Miner Farm Cemetery} to the Normalville Cemetery, but the bodies remain in the Miner Cemetery. Stones for their wives could not be found. There are 7 unmarked fieldstones in a row. Seven Kern children died from smallpox, but stones for them are in the Normalville Cemetery. It is not known if these stones or the ones in Normalville are the children's original stones. The previous owners of the 48 acre Martin Miner Farm were William Kern Jr. and William Kern Sr. The Martin Miner Farm Cemetery is located in a group of trees behind a barn at the following GPS location: 40.00161 N 79.42910 W A photo of the cemetery from the road is included with the photos of this memorial page and may be seen by photo clicking on any photo.
