Lola Giles Hundley, 96, passed away peacefully in Orem, November 26, 1997 of causes incident to age. She was born August 18, 1901 in Park City, Utah to Richard D. and Susan McDonald Giles. She spent the early years of her life in Heber City and moved with her parents to Provo when she was a young teenager.

She married Elijah J. "Lige " Hundley, April 30, 1919 in Provo, where they lived for most of their married life. He died February 28, 1952, leaving her a young widow at the age of 49. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and kept up with special activities of her family and supported them in whatever church involvements they chose. In her early years, she was actively involved in singing with her sister, Mae, and had a great love of music and other cultural things. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters, and one brother; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert G. and Lenore J. Hundley; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by four sons: Richard E. (Erma) Hundley, Provo; Don J. (Virginia) Hundley, St. George; William G. (Vera) Hundley, Orem, and John D. "Jack " (Sherrie) Hundley, Lindon; 19 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, 38 great-great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend their deep appreciation to Janet and the other workers at Beehive Retirement Home in Orem, where Lola has resided for the past four years, for their kind and loving care.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 2, 1997, at 2:00 p.m. at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo. Friends may call Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday afternoon one hour prior to services. Interment, Provo City Cemetery.
