SERVICES THURSDAY FOR PFC. L. COOK.
Funeral services for Pfc, Laverne George (Buster) Cook, 1804 West Fifth Street, who was killed in Holland, Oct. 29, 1944, will be held in the Hill & Fredericks Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Thursday followed by burial in Oakdale Cemetery. The body will arrive here early Wednesday morning. Pfc. Cook was born in Illinois, Oct. 6, 1907, attended the Davenport schools and had been employed at the Willey Radio Co., and the Rock Island Lines at Silvis prior to his induction in December, 1943. He served in the Armored Tank Division and went overseas in June, 1944. Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Cook of Buffalo; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Cook, Davenport; a sister, Mrs. Lawrence Lane, Duluth, Minn., and Clair Cook, all of Davenport.
