She went by Marguerite Barber, but on the 1920 census for Squaw Creek in Stevens County, Washington she was an 11 month old registered as "Violetie M. Metzgar". She was born to Violetta Rose (Cartwright) Metzgar and Solomon Isaac Metzgar. Solomon was born August 24, 1888 in Kosciusko, Indiana, and died September 25, 1967 (age 79), in Portland, Oregon.
