Served in the US Army, Sep. 20, 1917 through Mar. 12, 1918, Hq. Co. 7th Inf. He was a son of Elizabeth Lowery & John Williams Jr, a brother of Floyd Williams, and a grandson of James Lowery and Annie McKee Lowery and a great-grandson of John Lowery and Mary Chapman Lowery
At one time, he was a streetcar conductor.
He was married to, and divorced from, Martha Augusta Williams.
He and Martha had a son, John E. Williams, who survived both of his parents. Lawrence apparently adopted a son of Martha and Charles E. Albanesius, who was later named Charles R. Williams.
Lawrence died in the VA Hospital in Aspinwall.
