Samuel K. Jennings Born Oct 10 1828
to Alamo Hero Gordon Cartwright Jennings
and wife Catherine Cynthia Overton Avery McCutcheon Jennings.
Samuel was the last Child born to Gordon and Catherine,
following Abigail born in 1822, Joseph born in 1824 and Catherine "Katie" born in 1825.

He enlisted in the Mounted Texas Rangers, at the age of 17.
In 1861 at abt age 34, Samuel was in the Confederate Military Unit: Eighth Infantry.
Samuel became a sucessful Cattleman, his family drove cattle drives down the Chisholm trail.

He married Matilda Margaret Romaines 14 Feb 1856 in Webberville, Tx.
Later Moving to Adamsville, Tx, then onto Townsen's Mill, Tx. where he
passed away Oct. 20 1881, of consumption at the age of 53,
Leaving behind his wife, 10 living children and 3 children preceeding him in death.
