Marla Sue Lippincott

Grand Island Daily Independent - February 16, 1989 - Howard Lamar Lippincott passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 1989 at his home in Montebello, California at the age of 73. He was born July 16, 1915 on a farm near Kenesaw, Nebraska to Orlie and Florence (Young) Lippincott. He grew to manhood in this area and was graduated from Shelton High School where he lettered in Football. He married Thelma Rima of Shelton in 1938 and to this union were born a son, Howard Lamar Junior, and daughter, Marla Sue. He retired from the Uni Royal Rubber Company where he was employed for many years as superintendent of shipping. Always with love the protector and guiding hand of his family, he spent seven years researching and making of his family genealogy book. He also served in the U. S. Army during WWII.
He was an avid collector of coins, stamps, antiques and was an excellent wood carver until illness prevailed. Surviving him are his wife, Thelma, daughter, Marla Sue Stevenson of Montebello, son and daughter-in-law, Lamar and Norma Lippincott of Whittier, CA.; five grandchildren; Alan and wife, Sylvia of Long Beach, CA., Jill of Huntington Beach, CA., Michele of Whittier, CA., Dana Cazenave of Lompoc, CA., and Kelly Stevenson of Solvang, California. A great-granddaughter and step granddaughter, Candice Peterson of Huntington Beach, several nieces and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Vaughn Lippincott of Montebello, CA. He was layed to rest in his beloved Nebraska for which he had always yearned.

Howard was deeply devoted to his parents and to his "double aunt and uncle", (Lippincott brothers had married Young sisters). He had compiled a great deal of extensive Lippincott family history and much credit is due him for preserving a considerable amount of information that might have otherwise been lost or, at least, extremely difficult to gather!
