Robert C. "Fuzz" Johnson, 77, of Huntertown, owner/operator of Johnson's Christmas Tree Farm, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at Lutheran Hospital.
"Dedicated, generous patriot who was a good Christian. He shared the U.P. with us!"
The Fort Wayne native retired in 1980 from Fort Wayne City Utilities after 28 years of service, also retired from U.S. Air Force Reserve after 33 years of service and was a World War II and Vietnam War veteran. He was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, American Legion Post 82, Jim Eby VFW Post and 56-year member of Fort Wayne Polar Bear Club.
Surviving are sons Terry R. of Huntertown and Kitt J. of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Georgean C. Johnson-Coffey of Fort Wayne; brothers Buddy of Middlebury and Calvin of Antwerp, Ohio; sisters Patty Kennedy of LaGrange and Betty Coles of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
His wife, Rosella, preceded him in death.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Road, with calling one hour before services. Calling is also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Wayne Street Chapel, 420 W. Wayne St. Burial will be at Highland Park Cemetery.
Memorials are to ACRES Land Trust (Tom and Jane Dustin, Robert C. and Rosella C. Johnson and Whitehurst Nature Preserves - Bob donated his land to ACRES) or Veterans National Memorial Shrine on O'Day Road.
