Tyva and T. C. were married on March 5, 1920 and lived on the Colwell farm with Dollie until 1924. It was then that they bought 1 acre of land from Dollie and built a house and garage where T. C. started his automotive and farm machinery repair. In 1930 he bought about 1/3 acre from the Stinson's and built the Colwell Service Station where he worked for the remainder of his life.
Tyva and T. C. were active members of the Mt. Vernon Cumberland Presbyterian Church which was 3 miles east of their home.
