He was born May 20, 1920 in Mt. Vernon, NY where he resided most of his life as well as in Sebastian, FL.
He worked as an Operating Engineer until his retirement and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #137 of Briarcliff Manor, NY. He was also a volunteer Fireman in the City of Mt. Vernon, NY.
Jim is survived by his wife, Alice Gargano Giordano; daughter, Carol and son-in-law, Mitchel Freeman of Sebastian; son, Ralph Giordano of Jupiter, son, Vincent (Vinny) Giordano, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Ellyn of Sebastian; son, Paul Giordano and daughter-in-law, Patricia of Sebastian; sister, Laura D'Avanzo of Sebastian; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Carmella (Nofrogate) Giordano; father, Gabriel Giordano; his wife of many years Mary (Branchizzi) Giordano; sisters, Marie Hansen, Assunta Smith and Beatrice Simmons.
