ISAAC WEAVER DEAD
Special to the Gazette:

Dunlap, Dec. 24 - Isaac Weaver, 94, who had been a resident of Dunlap and vicinity for the past 56 years, died at his home here at 9 o'clock this morning. Although he has been a semi-invalid for the past 8 years, he was not seriously sick until 3 weeks ago.

Mr. Weaver was born April 17, 1846 in Perry county, Pennsylvania where he grew to manhood. Me married Miss Elizabeth Gingrey in Perry County May 13, 1869. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Weaver lived in Missouri a few years and then came to Kansas, reaching Emporia in 1884, they camped on ground that is now the Teachers College campus. Mr. Weaver purchased the farm a quarter of a mile west of District 72 schoolhouse, four miles southeast of Dunlap, from John Butler, who had homesteaded it.

Twenty years ago the Weavers moved to Dunlap. On September 23, 1931, Mrs. Weaver died.

Mr. Weaver is survived by nine children. They are Gordon L. Weaver, Clarence B. Weaver, Earl Weaver, of Dunlap; Ira D., Emery and John Weaver of El Monte, Calif., Mrs. Helena DeWar, of Arlington, Va., and Mrs. Elsie Curtis, a resident of Siloam Springs, Ark. He also is survived by 25 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Mr. Weaver was well enough to vote at the November 5 election, and at the time remarked that he never had missed voting for president. The first president he voted for was U.S. Grant. He always had been a Republican.

Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the Dunlap Methodist Church, Rev. E.R. Folles will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Maplewood Mausoleum, Emporia.
