Amelia Ann Blandford Edwards
Birth: Jun. 7, 1831
Death: Apr. 15, 1892

Journalist and novelist, explorer of Egypt. She began to write early. Among her best known novels are 'My Brother's Wife' and 'Barbara's History'. She was forthy-three when she visited Egypt for the first time. As the result of her travels, she published 'A Thousand Miles up the Nile' and founded The Egypt Exploration Fund, still existing today.
