Bernard Francois Marie Joseph de Fabrique Saint-Tours passed away Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, in San Benito.
Nicheside service: 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, in the Greenwood Mausoleum.
Bernard was born Dec. 13, 1937, in Fort-de-France, Martinique, the eldest of five children born to Guy and Berthe.
At the age of 10, he attended school at Juilly near Paris, France, and graduated from college in Brussels, Belgium. He came to the U.S. in 1960, joined the U.S. Air Force and became a U.S. citizen. He retired from his military career in 1980, but remained a civil servant until 1999, when he settled in San Benito, where he enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors: Daughter, Karen Cosgrove and husband, Mark, of Fort Worth; granddaughter, Kristin Cosgrove of Fort Worth; sisters, Jacqueline de Jaham of Martinique, Danielle de Fabrique Saint-Tours of Paris, France; brothers, Bertrand de Fabrique Saint-Tours and wife, Bridgette, of Paris, France, and Denis de Fabrique Saint-Tours and wife of La Reunion, Africa; cousin, Liliam Meyer and husband, Fred, of Belmont, Calif.; and numerous family and friends abroad.
