From the Alexandria Gazette. Feb 28,1921 p1. George W. Hall, eighty-two years old, a retired railroad employee, died about noon yesterday at his residence, 325 North Henry street. The deceased was a native of Fairfax county and was born August 4, 1838. He had lived in this city most of his life.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs Christopher C. Curtin.
For 61 years Mr. Hall was employed by the Southern Railway Co.,here and was retired on a pension April 1, 1916.
During his career he was employed in continuous service entering the employment of the road in 1858 as a laborer and he was promoted to yard foreman in 1860 and after serving his time worked as blacksmith at the shops here till his retirement.
His funeral will take place at 2 o'clock Wenesday afternoon from Christ Episeopal Church. Services will be conducted by Rev. Dr. W.J.Morton, rector, and burial will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery.
