Mr. Harry H Minor, TSgt Buffalo soldier with US Army Air Corp. Was born in Richmond Missouri to Harry Minor Sr., and Rowena Rogers Minor. He was the 2nd of four children. Harry's parents, one brother, Ewing Minor, two sister's, Dorothy Austin and Anna Elizabeth Redmond preceded him in death as did his first wife Gladys L. Rector Minor.
Harry attended school in Richmond Missouri, accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Ward Chapel AME Church. Harry moved with his family in the late 1930's to Kansas City and joined the Civilian Conservation Corp. When Harry discovered that a hometown native Sgt. Randall had retired at 37 years of age, he decided to pursue a military career so he could also retire young.
In 1941 Harry joined the Metropolitan AME Zion church and enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp. His 20-year military career (1941-1961) took him many places including Africa, Asia, Europe, The Philippines and Alaska. When home on leave Harry always worshipped at his church. Harry retired from service in 1961 and within one week he began a second 20-year career (1961-1981) in the Federal Civil Service at Richard's Gebaur Air Force Base in Grandview Missouri. Harry served on the building committee for the new church and as Captain on several Metropolitan Day celebrations. Worship and education was very important to Harry and the family traveled extensively. Harry loved the Lord, his family, church, friends and animals especially birds. He enjoyed gardening and planting exotic flowers

Harry would spend his time after retirement planting flowers and flower gardens. You will be missed but not forgotten.|
