Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Moore, widow of W. A. Moore, a Captain in the Confederate Army, died at 3 a.m. today at John Gaston Hospital, 11 days after she broke her hip in a fall. She was 89.
Mrs. Moore had made her home in Memphis for about 14 years. She had spent some time in Collierville, TN., with a son, Neil Moore, before returning to Memphis two months ago.
Mrs. Moore formerly lived in Waverly and Halls, Tenn. She and her husband were childhood sweethearts, and after the Civil War had ended, Mr. Moore returned to marry her. He was a merchant. Mrs. Moore was active in Methodist Church work. While in Memphis, she made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Lynn Dotson, 641 Merton.
Mrs. Moore leaves another son, J. House Moore, Selmer, TN; a brother W.H. McNeil, Waverly; a number of grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services, conducted by Rev. G.C. Fain, will be held at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow at National Funeral Home. Burial will be at Newbern, Tenn.

Elizabeth J. McNeil was b. Nov. 8, 1849 and d. on June 27, 1939 in Memphis, TN. Elizabeth is the daughter of Elcans Hand McNeil b. Dec. 24, 1810 in Coffee County, TN and Martha Lynn Alford b. Abt. 1810 in GA (they were married abt. 1835 in Humphreys, TN.) Elcans parents are John McNeil and Judith Adams.
