Carmen Rose Patterson Cornell
Birth: Aug. 11, 1900
Kansas, USA
Death: Aug. 22, 1966
Redwood City
San Mateo County
California, USA

Carmen lived a most exciting life. She married two of the most powerful, intellectual men of New Mexico.
Her first husband Robert "Bob" Dyche was born in Kansas. Bob the President of Albuquerque Associated Oil Co. died very unexpected and at a young age.
They had one child, a son James. Their son had achieved more in a few years than most people had in their entire life.
Carmen's marriage to Bob Dyche enabled her to travel the world with him & meet the most influential people of all time.

Carmen became and remained a close friend of President Harry S. Truman. She was active in politics and served in countless positions being appointed by the President of the U.S. and the Governors of NM.

She remarried about five years after the death of Bob Dyche to Dudley Cornell on Jan.1, 1956. Their is a photo of the Happy Couple on their wedding day in the Abq. Journal along with friends Alva Simpson & his wife of Santa Fe, NM. The Simpsons were very wealthy and traveled the world in their own jet. The four of them toured Europe for more than a month to celebrate the marriage.
Dudley was a well know attorney in Albuquerque, and had
made a name for himself from a young age.
He belonged to Phi Gamma Delta - Beta Kappa Chapter 1912.
Several photos of him in year books as a freshman at University of Colorado in Boulder Colorado, also when he ran for election for a seat in the U.S. House of Reprehensive losing to an incumbent A. M. (Tony)Fernandez who was seriously ill and admitted to St. Joseph's Hospital the day before the election. Had the public been aware of the serious health issues of Tony Fernandez (who died less than twelve hours of being reelected,)
no doubt Dudley Cornell would have won. Instead it allowed Joseph Montoya to fill the seat . Which was the beginning of Montoya's long career in politics in NM.
Carmen had been in Redwood City, California visiting her son James Dysch and his family after taking a month long vacation in Hawaii with her close friend Juanita Bowen who was more like a Sister . Within a few days of returning back to the U.S. she was admitted to the hospital and passed away totally unexpected.
Her only child her son James "Jim" Dysch, his wife and their three sons were left to mourn her passing a long with countless friends and assoc.'s
Newspapers ( Abq. Journal) articles from Santa Fe show Mrs.Carmen Cornell as the Director of the States (NM) School Lunch Program. 1955-1956
