Violet E. Way, 94, died Oct. 16, 1994, at the Overland Park Manor, where she lived. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel; burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice.
Mrs. Way was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing and worked there as a registered nurse for 50 years before retiring in 1975. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of the Overland Park Presbyterian Church.
Her husband, Gordon Way, died in 1962.
Survivors include three sons: Thomas Way, Shawnee; Walter Way, Elizabeth, Colo.; and Benjamin Way, Tonganoxie, Kan.; a sister, Margaret O'Brien [sic; O'Bryan], Columbia, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
