George Marion Boswell was born in Sanco, Texas in 1896 to Mary F and N Marion Boswell. During his lifetime, among many things, he became an accomplished educator, church leader, linguist, entrepreneur, devoted husband and proud father and grandfather. In 1918 he wed Miss Dona Viola Scarborough, youngest daughter of Nancy Penelope Harris and Lee Franklin Scarborough, Coke County, Texas rancher/farmer. Their courtship began while they were both students at North Texas Normal, now the University of North Texas, and culminated in a marriage that lasted until her death sixty-two years later. Two sons were born of their union.
