Edith M. Langston, formerly of Galveston, died at home in Alexandria, Va., on Thursday, May 7, 2009, from colon cancer.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday, May 14, at Richland Hills United Methodist Church, 7301 Glenview Drive, Richland Hills. Interment: Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery, 7301 E. Lancaster, Fort Worth. A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at Moody United Methodist Church, 2803 53rd St., Galveston.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Capital Hospice Development Office, 6565 Arlington Blvd., Suite 500, Falls Church, Va. 22042, or through www.capitalhospice.org.
She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of American Colonists, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and the Huguenot Society. She was a member of the Oleander Society and the Edgewater Methodist Retirement Auxiliary. She was a former member of the Cardinal Garden Club of Fort Worth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Langston.
Survivors: Her children and their spouses, Ron and Margie Langston of Seneca, S.C., Marsha and Mark Bush of Alexandria, Va., and Marvin and Sue Langston of Galveston; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
