h/o Mary J. Cox (second wife, my gggrandmother)
h/o Sarah J. Griggsby m. 3-16-1870 Texas, MO.
He owned a Merchandizing Store in the Ozarks, with Thomas W. Robertson,
and Leroy Adams. The store was in the old Leroy Adams
homestead. They attended the Central Baptist Church.
He is listed in the 1850 census of Bradley Co. Tennessee,
as being one years of age.
In 1870 he is listed in the Texas Co. MO census as living
next door to his brother John H. Yoakum. With wife Sarah M. Yoakum. He lists his age as 17 and his wife Sarah as 15. Which is not correct, he would have been 21 years of age. Dont know what became of Sarah M. Griggsby? He is next shown in 1880 census in Houston, Texas, Missouri married to Mary J. Cox. When they got married? I found the previous marriages of hers but not to Simon. There was a fire that burned the 1890 records?
His wife Mary J. Cox (1900 census)
remarried to Thomas W. Robertson, and had two step children.
Birth year is from earliest census (he was 1 years of age)
and death date is not sure.
